Dr. Claus Hilgers,
President & CEO (Founder)

born in 1970, studied chemistry at the University of Cologne. In 1997 he wrote his master thesis with Prof. John Prausnitz of the University of California, Berkeley, on "Capillary Electrophorectic Separation of DNA Restriction Fragments Using Dilute Polymer Solutions". Subsequently he conducted his PhD-studies on "Selective Ethylene Oligomerisation in Ionic liquids" at the RWTH Aachen.  

During his PhD-studies from 1998 to 2001 he worked closely together with Prof. Wilhelm Keim and Dr. Peter Wasserscheid, who later became his founding partner with Solvent Innovation. Dr. Hilgers has been with Solvent Innovation as President and CEO since the company's start in 1999. He is responsible for Solvent Innovation's strategic planning, human resources, finances and sales.

Dr. Marc Uerdingen,
Head of Research & Development,

born in 1972, studied chemistry at the University of Bonn. In 1998 he wrote his master thesis with Prof. Krause at the Kékulé Institute of Organic Chemistry at the University of Bonn. Subsequently he conducted his PhD-studies on "Investigations on Copper Assisted Addition Reaction on Michael Acceptors" at the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the University of Dortmund. Before his move to Solvent Innovation he was in charge of the Quality Assurance department of Maxim's Brand products.

Dr. Uerdingen is the head of Solvent Innovation's R&D department.

Dr. Markus Wagner,
Head of Marketing & Sales,

born in 1971, studied chemistry in Göttingen and Berkeley, California. He then joined the group of Prof. Hoppe, Münster and finished his PhD thesis in 2001. After working for the Bayer AG he joined Solvent Innovation in 2003, where he is heading the Marketing & Sales department.
