Solvent Innovation congratulates Prof. Dr. Peter Wasserscheid on the receipt of the Leibniz award 2006

Cologne, December 8, 2005 - Solvent Innovation is proud to announce that its co-founder, Prof. Dr. Peter Wasserscheid, has received the highest German Scientific Award, the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize 2006 today.

Professor Wasserscheid will share the price which is endowed with 1.55 Million Euro with Professor Beller of the University of Rostock. The price will be awarded on February 8th 2006 in Berlin by the president of the DFG, Professor Winnacker.

Peter Wasserscheid, born 1970, studied chemistry at the RWTH Aachen. Soon after his habilitation in 2002, he was appointed Head of the Institute for Chemical Reaction Engineering at the University of Erlangen. He has received numerous prices in his scientific career for his achievements in the development of ionic-liquids-technology, among them the DECHEMA price of the Max-Buchner-Foundation.

Professor Wasserscheid was co-founder of Solvent Innovation in 1999 and currently acts as the company scientific supervisor.
